I agree! If you read this, please comment to let the app developers know they have to change this intrusive interface bug!

I’ve always appreciated this app for its simplicity and clean interface, which allowed me to focus on what matters most: my journaling practice. However, I’m deeply disappointed to see how the recent updates have cluttered the interface with oversized AI buttons.

One of the app’s greatest strengths was how it fostered a sense of calm and clarity, helping users disconnect from distractions and connect with their thoughts. The addition of these prominent AI features feels intrusive and detracts from that experience. While I understand the value of innovation and the growing popularity of AI, it feels like these tools have been prioritized at the expense of the app’s original design philosophy.

If these AI features are here to stay, I would strongly urge the team to consider making them optional or less obtrusive. Give users the ability to toggle them off or customize the interface to maintain the clean, minimalist aesthetic we loved. For those of us who valued the simplicity that set this app apart, this change feels like a step in the wrong direction.

I hope the team takes this feedback seriously and finds a way to balance innovation with the core values that drew so many of us to this app in the first place.

Completely agree. The beauty of this app was its simplicity, and these AI buttons feel so out of place. Really hope they rethink this.

No me gusta cómo los nuevos botones de IA han afectado la interfaz. Antes era simple y tranquila, ahora se siente desordenada. Espero que lo ajusten.

I agree to all that was said here. We already pay for the app. Offering AI features for a premium is fine. But give me an option to disable these buttons which are basically ads. I do not want them. Thanks!

Especially for premium subscribers who aren’t interested in AI, an option to hide the AI buttons/prompts would be really appreciated. In the journal view especially it’s a super distracting thing to see.

Thank you for finally replying @witek. , as you can see in the comments people are really unhappy with those buttons. So please don’t come up with some half solution to make them look different, but actually give us a setting to completely hide those buttons. If you respect the people who paid for your app, you give them this freedom instead of trying to sell them even more of what they don’t want at all. We just want to journal, no AI!

@witek Remember that most complaints and abuse that you recieve (which the latter isn’t fair and right) is at least a 10:1. Where people are happy see no need to respond or complain whereas those unhappy or like to cause misery post the content. Your team and what you’ve done is one of the most incredible journal applications out there. It’s incredible, well thought out and extremely well designed with new entries and guides and optional AI features which are easily not used should one not wish to use it. You’re community ,team and you are incredible. Please don’t forget that. XOXO

@Teapot_unsaved0y I would say that the app WAS well designed. Those intrusive AI buttons that just try to sell you even more break the whole clean journaling interface. And the fact that they seem to ignore many of us who hate those buttons is very annoying. We paid for this app and could expect a bit of service. Hiding those buttons or adding a setting to hide them is not much work, my guess is that they’re just unwilling to listen to their users.

Let me start by saying that I have been using this app for three weeks now, and I am truly happy that I spent the money on it! I wish I had discovered it sooner.

Now to the point: I am generally happy with the AI feature. However, positioning becomes difficult, especially when writing longer texts. It gets in the way of reading my own text. I often find myself adjusting the window size so that my text ends up in a position that is not covered by the AI button.

My wish is not for the button to disappear completely, but for it to be positioned somewhere where it does not overlap with the text.
